It all started when…

I began to pee my pants every time I jumped rope. Yep—I was probably leaking in that picture to the left. As a young, female athlete who had never carried a baby, I was embarrassed. I knew this was a common problem for my mom-friends, but why was this happening to me? I started learning everything I could to help myself and others like me. What I found is that core and pelvic floor dysfunction is common (and frequently goes undiagnosed) for many pregnant and postpartum women. Just like me, these athletes wanted to move safely doing the exercise we love without the symptoms of pain, pressure, or incontinence. That’s where I found my coaching niche.

Fast forward to 2019…

And now I’m a mom working with women in metro-Atlanta to build strength, train safely, and rehab pelvic floor dysfunction. Most of my personal athletic experience is in CrossFit, but I ran a couple of marathons in my college years. During my years in group training, I discovered that many coaches didn't know how to appropriately modify workouts for pregnant and postpartum women. Furthermore, every pregnancy and birth is different, so a one-size-fits-all approach to training just doesn’t work. Let me create a personalized plan to get you moving in ways that feel supportive of your life and athletic goals!

My training sessions are focused on teaching the fundamentals of breathing, bracing, and movement modification that can be adapted and applied to a wide range of functional movement. What's functional for your life could be picking up baby’s car seat, carrying the Costco groceries all by yourself, participating in group-style training, or running a 5k. Even if you haven’t worked out in months (or years) that’s ok! My aim as a coach is to help you learn your own tendencies in posture, movement, and breath so you can confidently do whatever makes you feel like the superwoman you are.
